YouTube is a global video-sharing platform with creators all over the world making it the perfect place to get free, naturally spoken, native input with visual context. Whether you just started learning Spanish or are more advanced, with millions of hours of content, there’s something for everyone on YouTube.
Spanish YouTube Account
To create the best immersion environment, you should start by creating a new YouTube account only for watching videos in your target language. If you don’t have a second Google account that you can use for this, I suggest following the instructions linked below for creating a Google account that will also allow you to access the Spanish Google Play Store and Spanish apps. Once you have an account you’d like to use, find a few YouTube channels in your target language to subscribe to, you can find some channels to start with below. Only subscribe to channels in your target language. When a video appears on your home page in a language other than Spanish, click on the three dots under the video and select “don’t recommend channel.” For more details on this, watch the video below. You can also use Trancy or Language Reactor to help you understand videos as you watch them. Click the link below if you’re not already familiar with dual subtitle extensions.
Beginner
YouTube channels at the beginner level are mostly simple, immersive content for Spanish learners. These videos are educational and easy to follow, so they are great for getting used to spoken Spanish. When it comes to YouTube channels that focus on grammar, don’t think you need to watch every video of theirs, instead use them as a reference. When you come across new phrases or grammar you aren’t familiar with, you can see if any of these channels have made a video explanation. You can also look through the videos they have and see if there is anything that is familiar to you but that you struggle to understand. Watching a bunch of grammar videos isn’t particularly fun, so use them in moderation or you may get burnt out.
The Language Tutor – Spanish
The Language Tutor is a great channel for learning and reviewing grammar. Danny’s explanations are clear with good examples making even the most difficult topics more comprehensible.
Spring Spanish
Spring Spanish makes videos on useful expressions, conversations, grammar, and more!
The Spanish Dude
The Spanish Dude breaks down Spanish in a way that is easy to understand. He teaches grammar in a fun and sometimes unconventional way that will help you remember what you’ve learned.
Language Transfer – Complete Spanish
Language Transfer Spanish is an audio course you can listen to alongside your regular Spanish studies. The course teaches Spanish using natural immersion and avoids direct memorization and note-taking. It’s great for those who wish to incorporate immersion into their language journey early on.
Butterfly Spanish
Butterfly Spanish is another great channel for learning and reviewing Spanish grammar.
Intermediate
At the intermediate level, it’s time to start moving away from content with English explanations and translations. While you may still use English to support your study at this level, it’s best to only look up the vocabulary you need. Even if you don’t understand everything, you should be listening to content that is fully in Spanish. This will help you get used to the way Spanish is spoken, and you’ll pick up new words through context.
Spanish After Hours
Spanish After Hours is great for those just beginning to transition into Spanish content. Her videos rely on comprehensible explanations and demonstrations to help you build your Spanish listening skills.
Easy Spanish
Easy Spanish is a YouTube channel that interviews native Spanish speakers and asks them a variety of interesting questions. They also make videos about daily situations and culture. Their videos are a great way to get exposure to native-level Spanish and hear how different native speakers talk. Their videos all have Spanish and English subtitles, but I recommend focusing on the Spanish subtitles over the English ones.
Dreaming Spanish
Dreaming Spanish is an immersive, Spanish language channel for learners to build their language skills through context and immersion. The videos on this channel cover a wide range of fun topics in easy-to-understand Spanish!
Why Not Spanish?
Why Not Spanish teaches Spanish grammar through immersion and context. The teacher-student relationship between Maria and Cody is fantastic for learners because you can see another learner’s experience. This is a wonderful channel for building up your Spanish through natural acquisition.
Hola Spanish
Hola Spanish is a Spanish learning channel entirely in Spanish, making it perfect for intermediate and advanced learners to review and practice grammar in a fully immersive environment!
Español con Juan
Español con Juan makes videos for intermediate learners to improve their Spanish through immersion and stories.
Advanced
At the advanced level, it’s time to start watching fully native content that covers a larger variety of topics. Below are channels I find useful, but I encourage you to find channels you like on your own as well. Anything in Spanish that you enjoy is content you can use to learn!

JuegaGerman is a popular gamer and comedian, and with a huge library of videos, his channel is perfect for immersion! German’s videos are high-energy and his way of speaking is fast but clear and easy-to-understand, which is great for getting used to the speed of native-speakers.
superholly
Superholly is a bilingual YouTuber who makes videos primarily in Spanish about languages, storytimes, and whatever else interests her.
31 minutos
31 minutos is a Chilean children’s show and news parody. Although it’s intended for kids, its creative comedy has earned it many adult fans, which makes it a great show for Spanish learners.

Enchufetv is sketch comedy channel with lots of fun videos to watch!
No Somos TV
This channel is an improv comedy show where they have different comedians perform on stage or hold game show segments! The show is funny with a wide variety of segments and topics! If you like shows like Whose Line Is It Anyway?, you’ll probably enjoy this channel.
